Dinamo Brest appoint Maradona as chairman

Diego Armando Maradona has been appointed as chairman of Belarusian top tier division side Dinamo Brest, the club announced on Wednesday.

The Argentina legend, 57, signed a three-year deal with the club and will take up his new role after the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Maradona will supervise strategic development and cooperate with all structural departments, including the Academy of Dynamo Brest, according to a statement on the club's website.

The date of the press conference will be announced additionally.

This the second managerial spell for Maradona, the first came to an end last month with United Arab Emirates club Al Fujairah, when the club missed out on the direct promotion from the second division.

Dinamo Brest are currently at the eighth spot in the Belarusian Premier League, the team will take on BATE Borisov in the cup final on Saturday.
