Argentine footballer Lionel Messi and Formula One world champion Lewis Hemilton won the 2019 Best Sportsmen Award for Laureus World Sports Academy.

Axar.az informs that, the award ceremony was held in Berlin.

Messi won the Spanish Championship in Barcelona's squad (36 goals) in the 2018/19 season and was the top scorer in the Champions League with 12 goals. He won the Spanish Championship in the Barcelona squad. He scored 51 goals at the club that season and was awarded the Golden Boots. The thirty-two year old striker (1 goal) was ranked third in the American Cup with Argentina. Messi won the Golden Ball in 2019.

Lewis has won the Formula 1 World Championships for the 6th time in a row and five consecutive years in his career.
