Azerbaijan refused Formula 1

After a teleconference with the leadership of Formula 1, the International Motorsports Federation, organizers and sponsors of the races, the Azerbaijani side stated that it prefers to cancel the Azerbaijani Grand Prix, which is scheduled for June 7.

Axar.az reports that, after the cancellation of the March, April and May stages of Formula 1, Baku was supposed to be the first venue for the season, but the organizers of the Azerbaijani Grand Prix refused to organize the race, expressing concern about the coronavirus.

In April, the Azerbaijani side stated that the city roads should be prepared for the competition, that this process requires a lot of money, and if the competitions are canceled, these funds will be wasted, so they have already canceled the event.
