"Shamkir Chess2016" super tournament kicks off

Azerbaijani grandmaster Shahriyar Mammadyarov has drawn with Russian Sergey Karyagin with 0.5 points in the first round of the Shamkir Chess Tournament.

The day`s other results were as follows: Rauf Mammadov 0.5-0.5 Anish Giri, Teymur Rajabov 0.5 – 0.5 Hou Yifan, Eltaj Safarli 0.5 – 0.5 Pavel Elyanov, FabianoKaruan 0.5 – 0.5 Pentala Harikrishina.

The second round of the tournament will be held on May 27.

Notably, winner of 'Shamkir Chess' circular system super tournament will be identified on June 4 as a result of 9-turn fight.
