No replays for 2020-21 season in FA Cup

To "ease pressure" on the fixtures in the Emirates FA Cup, there will be no replay matches during the 2019-2020 season, the English Football Federation announced Thursday.

Axar.az reports citing Turkish media.

''In order to assist in easing pressure on the football schedule, there will be no replays for the 2020-21 season,'' said the FA.

''After two seasons of record levels of prize funds, the Emirates FA Cup prize fund has returned back in line with 2017-18 levels due to the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic,'' it added.

The new season in the Emirates FA Cup is set to start in a little over two weeks, on Sept. 1.

The final match is due to be played on May 15, 2021.
