The French Wrestling Federation has corrected a mistake regarding Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that a mistake was made regarding Azerbaijan in the 47th wrestling tournament to be held in Nice, France on January 15-17.

Thus, the organizers of the Grand Prix in honour of Henry Deglan, who won a gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling at the Summer Olympic Games in France in 1924, did not display the flag of the participating Azerbaijan in the logo.

Upon learning of this, the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation immediately reacted to the issue and complained to the organizers. As a result, the organizer, the French Wrestling Federation, corrected the mistake and added the Azerbaijani flag to the logo.

The organizers also said on Facebook that the mistake was not politically motivated and apologized for it.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team participated in this tournament for the first time in 2019.
