Azerbaijani GM shares 1st-7th places

Azerbaijani grandmaster Vasif Durarbeyli have shared the 1st-7th places at the 44th Annual World Open tournament in Philadelphia, United States.

GM Gabor Papp won the 44th World Open after beating GM Victor Bologan in an Armageddon playoff.

Durarbeyli earned 7 points along with 6 chess players after 9 rounds, including Hungarian Gabor Papp who topped the tournament thanks to extra indicators.

The tournament brought together 213 chess players, as well as 33 grandmasters.
