The freestyle wrestling team of Azerbaijan became the first in the European Championship among 17-year-olds held in Novi Sad, Serbia.

Axar.az reports that according to the information provided by the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, our freestyle wrestling national team, consisting of teenagers who won 2 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals at the continental championship, won 160 points and became the team champion.

Our team is 36 points ahead of second-tier Armenia. Turkiye (119 points) took the third place.

It should be noted that Muhammed Ismayilov (51 kilograms) and Isa Yusibov (65 kilograms) won gold medals, Huseyin Ismayilov (60 kilograms) and Mukhamad Gantemirov (110 kilograms) won silver medals, and Hajihuseyn Ahmadzade (48 kilograms) and Huseyn Huseynov (55 kilograms) won bronze medals.
