None of the players called up to the national team are stars; stars are in the sky.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the head coach of the Azerbaijan national football team, Fernando Santos, during a press conference before the UEFA Nations League match against Sweden.

The Portuguese coach mentioned that there are alternatives:

"I watched the European competition matches and decided to announce the squad this way. If players abroad get injured, local players will replace them. We are following all the league matches. We have invited two players from Turan Tovuz. This is not because they are leaders. Players from four teams have not been called up, but no one can say that they will not be invited in the future."

It should be noted that the national team will face Sweden in Baku on September 5 and Slovakia in Košice on September 8 in the Nations League.
