Paraathlete wins gold and breaks world record -

Azerbaijan's para athlete Lamiya Valiyeva won a gold medal at the Summer Paralympic Games held in Paris, the capital of France, and set a new world record.

Axar.az reports that our representative achieved a successful result in the 100-meter run in the T13 category.

L. Valiyeva, who crossed the finish line first with a result of 11.76 seconds, climbed to the top of the podium.

Our athlete thereby set a new world record ahead of Leilia Adjametova (Ukraine), who had the best result of 11.79 seconds at the Rio 2016 Paralympics.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team won 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals at the Paris-2024 Summer Paralympic Games.
