Iranian boxing official murdered in Tehran

The head of the Boxing Council of Iran's East Azerbaijan province, Isa Gholmohammadi, has been murdered.

Axar.az reports that the East Azerbaijan Boxing Council released this information.

It was reported that I. Gholmohammadi was killed in a garden house in the village of Shatorkhvar in Tehran's Rabatkarim district. He was stabbed five times and shot 11 times.

According to the report, two individuals attacked the athlete. Their identities have not yet been determined.

A criminal case has been opened regarding the incident.

It is noteworthy that I. Gholmohammadi was a national boxing champion. He had also worked as a coach and manager of Iran's boxing team for a time and was a member of the Iran Boxing Federation.
