Azerbaijani judokas honored for Paris 2024 Olympic win

A ceremony was held in Baku to celebrate the victory of Azerbaijani judokas at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.

Axar.az reports that the event was organized by the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, where video clips showcasing the most memorable moments of our judokas' recent Olympic victory were presented.

Rashad Nabiyev, President of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, Chingiz Huseynzade, Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, and Farid Gayibov, Minister of Youth and Sports, spoke about the judokas' victory and the support for sports in our country.

At the event, Olympic champions Hidayat Heydarov and Zelim Kotsoyev were awarded the Golden Numbers of Judo by the International Judo Federation.

Nazim Huseynov, the 1992 Summer Olympics champion, Elnur Mammadli, the 2008 Summer Olympics champion, and the 2024 Summer Olympics champions Hidayat Heydarov and Zelim Kotsoyev, as well as Azerbaijan’s honored coaches Tarlan Hasanov and Elkhan Mammadov, were presented with new apartments.
