Mariya Stadnik announces wrestling retirement

Azerbaijani female wrestler Mariya Stadnik announced that she had ended her career.

Axar.az reports that the athlete shared this on her Instagram account.

"I wrote my name in the history of world women's wrestling. I am grateful to everyone who created this history with me. Now it is time to close this page of my life and write a new one. Wrestling, I thank you for everything," she said.

It should be noted that M. Stadnik finished Paris-2024 without a medal. The two-time world and ten-time European champion won two silver and two bronze medals in the previous four Olympics.
