Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Eldeniz Azizli (55 kg) reached the final of the European Championship held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.

Axar.az reports that the experienced athlete defeated Armenian representative Manvel Khachatryan with a score of 5:1 in the semifinals.

Murad Mammadov (63 kg) lost to his Turkish colleague Kerem Kamal in the same round. Islam Abbasov (87 kg) was defeated by Bulgarian Semen Novikov.

Senan Suleymanov (77 kg) lost to Turkish Ahmet Yilmaz in the 1/8 finals, and Beka Kandelaki (130 kg) lost to Turkish Hamze Bakir in the 1/4 finals.

It should be noted that previously, freestyle wrestlers won 1 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze medals. Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg) became the European champion, Osman Nurmagomedov (92 kg) won silver, Islam Bazarganov (57 kg), Ali Rahimzade (65 kg), Kenan Heybatov (70 kg), and Aganazar Novruzov (74 kg) won bronze medals.

The Azerbaijani freestyle wrestling team became the European champion in the team event.

The continental championship will end on April 13.
