On October 28, 2020, at around 1 pm, 14 people were killed and more than 40 were injured when enemy armed forces used cluster bombs, which are prohibited by international law, to hit the densely populated area of Barda and commercial establishments, civil infrastructure facilities and vehicles in the city were severely damaged.
Axar.az reports citing the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office that the prosecutor's office is currently working to clarify the list of victims by carrying out all possible investigative measures.

The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office issued a new statement on Armenia's missile launch in Barda.
The statement reads:
"On October 28, 2020, at about 1 pm, 19 people were killed and nearly 60 people were wounded by enemy armed forces using barred cassettes, which are prohibited by international law, in the densely populated area of Barda and where trade facilities are located. Injured, causing extensive damage to civilian infrastructure and vehicles in the city.
At present, the prosecutor's office is working to clarify the list of victims by carrying out all possible investigative measures in the current situation."
