The construction of the Barda-Agdam highway, one of the road infrastructure projects implemented in the Karabakh and East Zangazur economic regions, is underway.

Axar.az reports that according to the Azerbaijan State Agency for Motor Roads, the length of the Barda-Agdam highway, which originates in Barda, will be 45 kilometres.

According to the order of the President, the Barda-Agdam highway is being built in accordance with the first technical category, with 4 lanes, taking into account the development plan of Karabakh.

Currently, earthworks are underway on the 5-45th kilometre of the Barda-Agdam highway. Thus, unsuitable soil is excavated using special equipment, a new 26.5-meter-wide roadbed is being built. Road foundation construction is underway in the areas where the roadbed is ready. The construction of the foundation in some parts is nearing completion.
