Israeli political scientist Yakov Kedmi had an argument with Russian TV host Vladimir Solovyov during a talk show.

Axar.az reports that despite supporting the Kremlin's policy, Kedmi ridiculed the idea that Russia is fighting not only against Ukraine but also against NATO.

"You want to talk about tanks, about sending weapons? Saying: How many weapons did the USSR give to Egypt and Syria? Your officer sat in each battalion. The General Staff of the Soviet army planned their operations. Did we say this is a war with you? No! Never! This was Israel's war with Egypt. The Soviet Union was giving weapons to Egypt. No one said that the USSR waged war against Israel by providing weapons. Many countries give weapons to someone, but this does not mean that they are involved in a war. Even when advisers are involved, this is not considered participation in the war. There was a Soviet officer in every battalion of the Egyptian army I fought. But this was not a war with the USSR. No one in the world considered it a war between Israel and the USSR!" he said.
