On February 26, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation stone of the Khojaly Genocide Memorial in the city of Khojaly, met with representatives of the district community and got acquainted with the construction works being carried out in the city.

Axar.az reports that later the head of state and representatives of the community of Khojaly district visited Khankendi.
