Plane flying from Baku to Grozny crashes in Aktau -

Azerbaijan Airlines flight J2-8243, operated by an "Embraer 190" aircraft, made an emergency landing 3 km near Aktau city.

Axar.az informs that Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) reported this.

Initial information suggests that the cause of the incident was a collision between the aircraft and a flock of birds.

67 passengers and crew on board the crashed plane.

Kazakhstan's Ministry of Emergency Situations sent 52 personnel and 11 vehicles to the site of the crash near Aktau.

According to Kazakh media, the number of casualties is still being determined, but initial reports indicate that there are survivors.
