The military wing of Hamas, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, has released a video of Israeli soldier Liri Albag, who was taken captive.

Axar.az reports that the 19-year-old soldier, in the video filmed at an unknown date, says he has been held captive for over 450 days.

“I've been a prisoner in Gaza for 450 days, and my life has come to a halt. Today marks the beginning of a new year, and the whole world is celebrating. However, we are entering a dark year. We are not a priority for our government or our military. The world has even started to forget us and doesn't care about our suffering,” he says.

Albag then addresses the Israeli government, asking, “If your loved ones were in captivity, would the war still be ongoing?”

“I really want to ask you: do you want to kill us? Defense Minister, you know my father, look into his eyes and say that he won’t embrace my mother and sisters. Look into their faces and say it. You don’t have the courage to do so. After seeing death and what happened to my friend, I realized that our lives don’t matter to you. I understand that we are your toys. It is impossible to get us out of here with military operations; you know that. To think that this method will work is madness.”

Finally, Albag says, “Remember my name and this video: 'On my grave, write: This is all thanks to the government and the army.’
