A Sudanese military plane crashed on Tuesday in a residential area near the Wadi Seidna military airport in northern Omdurman killing 46 people, including military personnel and civilians.
Axar.az reports that citing AFP, it was reported that the aircraft crashed into a residential building due to technical malfunctions after takeoff.
As a result of the crash, 46 people lost their lives.
Among the deceased is a high-ranking commander in Khartoum, Major General Bahr Ahmad, a former military district commander.
The incident comes a day after the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) claimed responsibility for downing a fighter jet in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur.
In a statement sent to the media, the RSF said it shot down a Russian-made Ilyushin plane early on Monday morning, alleging that the plane was destroyed with its crew on board.
