A state of emergency has been declared around the Istanbul Police Headquarters on Vatan Avenue following the detention of 106 people, including Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, police barriers have been placed on several streets leading to the avenue.

Additionally, traffic restrictions have been imposed on several roads, including Vatan Avenue, as well as on some metro stations.

It is worth noting that this morning, Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu and dozens of others were detained. Imamoglu is under two separate investigations. One probe involves allegations of "aiding a terrorist organization," while the other includes charges of "forming and leading a criminal organization," "bribery," and "aggravated fraud."
