Russian President Vladimir Putin presented Kazakh leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev with an award certificate for awarding his father the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

Axar.az reports that this happened during Tokayev's visit to Russia to participate in a military parade dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II.

"Dear President, I would like to present you with an award certificate, this is a document confirming that your father was awarded the Order of Hero of the Soviet Union," Putin said during a meeting with Tokayev.

It should be noted that Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich was a veteran of World War II and a well-known Kazakh writer.
