A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck the Sındırgı district of Balıkesir province in Turkiye.

The tremors were felt in Istanbul and its surroundings, Bursa, Kocaeli, and other regions, including İzmir.

No initial details about destruction or casualties were reported.

It is reported that one building collapsed in the Sındırgı district due to the earthquake, and six people were reported missing.

Another earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6 was recorded in Balıkesir.

The tremors caused damage to 10 buildings.

Following the earthquakes, seven aftershocks above magnitude three were recorded in Turkiye.

The natural disaster was felt in the provinces of Manisa, İzmir, Uşak, and Bursa. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
