Coast Guard rescues 51 trapped by Greece wildfires

Due to strong winds and high temperatures, forest fires have broken out in many areas from the Peloponnese peninsula to Western Greece.

Axar.az reports citing the Anadolu Agency, the fire rapidly spread in the Achaea region in western Greece, reaching residential areas and the Patras Industrial Zone. The Patras-Pyrgos highway has been closed. Evacuation orders were given for five villages.

Additionally, 51 people trapped on a local beach were safely relocated by coast guard teams.
