Valletta named world’s most beautiful capital

Malta’s capital, Valletta, has topped the “Readers’ Choice Awards 2025,” surpassing tourism giants such as Paris, Athens, and Lisbon.

Axar.az reports that the city was named the world’s most beautiful capital by Condé Nast Traveller magazine.

More than 182,000 readers voted, giving high marks to Valletta’s culture, cuisine, and hospitality.

Valletta scored 97.33 out of 100. Covering less than one square kilometer, the city is a true open-air museum with Baroque-style palaces, ancient fortresses, churches, and narrow streets. Valletta was founded in the 16th century by the Knights of Malta and has been included on UNESCO’s World Heritage List since 1980.
