Turkish actor Engin Çağlar killed in accident - Photo

Famous Turkish actor Engin Çağlar has died in a traffic accident in Istanbul.

Axar.az reports that the 85-year-old actor was hit by a motorcycle while crossing the street in the Şişli district yesterday.

Engin Çağlar was taken to the hospital, but despite doctors’ efforts, his life could not be saved.

Engin Çağlar was one of the unforgettable actors of Yeşilçam, the golden era of Turkish cinema. He starred in many popular films such as “Kadın Değil Baş Belası,” “Kınalı Yapıncak,” “Feride,” and “Makber.”

He appeared alongside legendary Yeşilçam stars Türkan Şoray, Hülya Koçyiğit, and Fatma Girik, and was recognized as one of the most popular male actors of Turkish cinema in the 1960s and 1970s.
