Zakharova rebukes Pashinyan’s remarks on Turks

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova responded to the views expressed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding the Turks.

Axar.az reports that she shared this on her Telegram account.

Thus, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the stereotypes formed regarding the Turks were created by Russia.

“We say that ‘Turks never change,’ and the Turks have the same opinion about Armenians. We say, ‘How can we trust an Azerbaijani?’ They say, ‘How can we trust an Armenian?’ We must free ourselves from the worldview formed by KGB agents,” Pashinyan noted.

Zakharova, in turn, recalled that the KGB (USSR State Security Committee) was created only in 1954, about 40 years after the “Armenian genocide” in the Ottoman Empire, and said that such accusations are groundless.

"The 'Armenian genocide' in the Ottoman Empire began in 1915, about 40 years before the creation of the KGB," he emphasized.
