Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s helicopter was unable to land at the venue for a planned rally in West Bengal due to heavy fog.

Axar.az reports, citing PTI, that the Indian government leader had to return to Kolkata airport.

It was noted that chaos erupted at the rally site in Netaji Park, Taherpur, as the crowd gathered to see the Prime Minister grew impatient and attempted to enter the fully occupied area.

The crowd broke through one of the VIP entrances and tried to overcome barricades set up by security personnel, forcing local police and administration to take appropriate measures.

Previously, Modi was scheduled to inaugurate several road construction projects in West Bengal and then personally attend the rally.
