5.6 magnitude earthquake hits Japan

An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 struck the Japanese island of Hokkaido.

Axar.az reports that the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported this.

It was reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 111 km northeast of the city of Hatinoye (northern Aomori Prefecture), where about 239 thousand people live, and the focus was located at a depth of 62 km.

No information was given about damage and casualties, and no tsunami threat was announced.
