Turkiye's longest river freezes in Sivas -

The Kizilirmak River has frozen over in the Turkish city of Sivas after two days of heavy snowfall.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that temperatures in the city dropped to minus 19 degrees Celsius.

The stretch of the Kizilirmak River that runs through the city center has been covered in thick ice. At 1,355 kilometers, the Kizilirmak is Turkiye’s longest river.

Cold weather is expected to persist for several more days.
