U.S. President Donald Trump posted an image on his Truth Social account on Sunday that appeared to show him labeled as the “Acting President of Venezuela.”

Axar.az informs the image, styled like a Wikipedia screenshot, depicted Trump’s official portrait with the title “Acting President of Venezuela, Incumbent January 2026."

The US carried out a military operation in Venezuela on Jan. 3, capturing Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores to try them in a New York court over drug- and weapons-related charges.

Following Maduro's capture, his vice president, Delcy Rodrigues, was sworn in as interim president.
