Iran to temporarily close part of the Strait of Hormuz

The Iranian Navy will close part of the strategically important Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf for several hours.

Axar.az reports, citing Mehr, that the reason for this is military exercises.

"A part of the strait will be closed for several hours to ensure safety and compliance with navigation rules during the naval exercises.

Counter-military scenarios will be implemented in response to threats during the exercises," the statement said.
