Paris authorities evacuate buildings amid bomb alert

On the evening of February 20, 2026, several high-profile locations in Paris, including Tour Montparnasse and Sciences Po, were evacuated due to a suspected bomb threat, following reports of an explosive device.

Axar.az, citing French media, reports that other sites reportedly at risk include the Eiffel Tower, Bataclan, and a shopping mall, though some, like the Eiffel Tower, were not evacuated.

Authorities, led by the Paris Prefecture, deployed sniffer dogs and conducted inspections to verify the threat.

Multiple threatening emails had been sent to authorities targeting Paris landmarks. Citizens were urged to remain vigilant and follow safety protocols, and the 15th arrondissement was advised to be avoided.

Public transport remained operational.
