IRGC generals effectively seized power in Iran

IRGC generals have effectively taken control of Iran. The Supreme Leader has been killed, no successor has been appointed, and President Masoud Pezeshkian holds no real authority. It is the IRGC generals who are leading the war and launching missile and drone attacks on neighboring countries.

Axar.az reports according to political analyst Elkhan Shahinoglu, these generals, lacking strategic foresight, are pushing Iran into deeper crises:

“The drone strike on Azerbaijani territory not only escalated tensions between the two countries but also suspended the North-South transport corridor, a project Iran had pinned great hopes on, indefinitely, freezing import-export operations. At the same time, Iran has been striking the United Arab Emirates for days. In response, the UAE has frozen billions of dollars in Iranian assets. Investigations revealed that the IRGC, targeting the UAE, maintains various accounts in banks there, using them to bypass Western sanctions and conceal funds. In short, the radical forces in Iran are undermining their own foundations.”
