Suspect fatally shot after ramming synagogue in Michigan

A man armed with a rifle rammed his vehicle into Temple Israel, one of the largest reform synagogues in West Bloomfield, Michigan, on Thursday and was fatally shot by security personnel.

Axar.az reports, citing AP, the vehicle caught fire after crashing into the building, and smoke quickly filled the synagogue, which houses an early childhood center.

No children or staff were injured, though one security officer was briefly knocked unconscious.

Authorities are still working to identify the attacker and determine a possible motive, as the investigation remains in its early stages.

Temple Israel, with roughly 12,000 members, temporarily went into lockdown following the attack.

The incident comes amid heightened global security concerns for Jewish communities, following U.S. and Israeli missile strikes on Iran and FBI warnings about potential threats from Iranian operatives and other extremist-inspired attacks.
