Three people were killed and two others injured after an Airborne Aviation tour helicopter crashed Thursday afternoon on the remote Kalalau Beach on Kauai’s north shore.

Axar.az reports, citing AP, the aircraft was carrying one pilot and four passengers when it went down along the Na Pali Coast, a rugged area famous for cliffs and waterfalls typically accessible only by hiking or boat.

According to the Kauai Fire Department, the two survivors were transported to Wilcox Medical Center for treatment.

Local police confirmed the three fatalities following the incident.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of those on board as investigations into the cause of the crash begin.
