A U.S. Air Force Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker refueling aircraft declared an emergency over the Mediterranean Sea after taking off from Tel Aviv.
Axar.az reports that Flightradar24 noted on X: "A Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker is squawking 7700 (general emergency) after takeoff from Tel Aviv."
It was noted that, based on its trajectory, the aircraft initially climbed out over the sea and then began turning back toward land, while such aircraft typically operate routes toward Iraq.
However, the aircraft turned back toward the sea again and began descending. At present, the Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker is circling over the sea at an altitude of approximately 2.5 km.
