Herat attack leaves 7 dead, 13 wounded

Unknown armed individuals opened fire on civilians at a recreational site in the Injil district of Herat province, Afghanistan.

Axar.az reports, citing local media, that this was stated by the spokesperson of the country’s Ministry of Interior, Abdul Matin Qani.

According to him, the incident took place on Friday afternoon in the Qabarzon area, where armed men on motorcycles targeted people gathered at a leisure spot.

Earlier reports from local sources said the attack occurred near the Hashimi Bridge in Deh Miri village, a popular recreational area.

As a result of the incident, 7 people were killed and 13 were injured. Several of the wounded are in critical condition.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
