UK develops major national war resilience plan

The United Kingdom is preparing a new version of a major national plan to ready the entire country—including the military, police, hospitals, and industry—for a potential transition to war.

Axar.az reports, in an interview with Sky News, the Chief of the Defense Staff of the British Armed Forces, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton made the remarks.

He said the updated version of the so-called “Government War Book” would draw on lessons from the Cold War, but would require a different approach to resilience “in a modern context, with a modern society, with modern infrastructure.”

Knighton explained that the plan would involve not only the military but also civilian preparedness across government, including ensuring critical infrastructure such as energy, water, and transport systems are resilient to potential conflict-related threats.
