Former Austria goalkeeper Alex Manninger dies in crash

Former Austria national team goalkeeper Alexander Manninger has died.

Axar.az reports that his former club announced his death in a statement on X, "We mourn the loss of our former player Alexander Manninger, who tragically lost his life in a traffic accident. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Rest in peace, Alexander."

The statement did not provide further details about the circumstances of the accident.

It should be noted that during his career, Alexander Manninger played for well-known clubs such as England’s Arsenal and Liverpool, as well as Italy’s Juventus.
