Iran executes man convicted of spying for Israel

Mehdi Farid, a prisoner, was executed this morning on charges of espionage for Israel.

Axar.az informs, citing Iran’s judiciary-affiliated Mizan news agency, Farid had previously worked for Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization.

He was arrested by security forces in the winter of 2022.

Initially, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison by Branch 26 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court, but later, following another trial in Branch 23 of the same court, he was sentenced to death on charges of spying for Israel.
