France to deploy troops to Cyprus for humanitarian role

Cyprus is set to sign an agreement in June allowing the presence of French forces on the island for humanitarian purposes.

Axar.az reports, citing Cyprus Mail, that President Nikos Christodoulides said the talks with France have entered a formal stage, with the agreement expected to be finalized at the ministerial level.

The arrangement will allow French forces to be stationed in Cyprus strictly for humanitarian purposes, as part of broader efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
