Russian cargo ship runs aground in Bosporus Strait -

A 148-meter-long container ship named “KAPPA,” sailing from Russia to Kocaeli with a pilot onboard, ran aground off Yenikoy in the Bosporus Strait.

Axar.az informs, citing Anadolu Agency, that police and teams from the Directorate General of Coastal Safety (KEGM) were dispatched to the scene. Due to the operation, ship traffic in the Bosporus was temporarily suspended in both directions.

Following coordinated rescue efforts, the vessel was refloated and successfully recovered. After being moved to a safe area, maritime traffic in the strait resumed at 07:50 (local time).
