Netanyahu calls security cabinet over Iran, Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has convened a meeting of the security cabinet to discuss the possibility of renewed fighting in Gaza.

Axar.az reports, citing JP, the cabinet meeting is expected to take place on Sunday and will focus on conditions for resuming military operations in the Gaza Strip.

Israel is seeking concrete steps toward the disarmament of Hamas and the establishment of a new technocratic government in Gaza.

The report comes after Hamas submitted its response to a proposed disarmament plan, which included demands for a full ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza under an agreed timetable. It also follows ongoing discussions involving the Gaza Board of Peace and international efforts to maintain the ceasefire and establish a transitional governance framework in the territory.
