Cargo ship comes under attack near Iran’s sirik coast

A cargo vessel has come under attack near the coast of Iran.

Axar.az reports that the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Centre (UKMTO) announced this.

“UKMTO has received a report of an incident 11 nautical miles west of Sirik, Iran. The master of a northbound bulk carrier reported being attacked by multiple small craft. All crew are reported safe and no environmental impact has been reported,” the statement said.

Vessels have been advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity, while authorities are currently investigating the incident.

No additional details, including the name of the vessel, have been disclosed so far.
