Multiple explosion heard near Iran’s Bandar Abbas

Multiple explosion-like sounds have been heard near the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas.

Axar.az reports, citing Fars News Agency, that residents of Bandar Abbas heard several loud blasts from areas surrounding the city.

The exact source and location of the sounds have not yet been determined, and investigations are ongoing.

Over the past two nights, attempts by the United States to move ships through the Strait of Hormuz were met with a response from Iranian armed forces. The agency further claimed that U.S. forces targeted two local fishing boats, killing five people.

According to Fars, parts of the commercial section of the Bahman pier in Qeshm were damaged during exchanges of fire between Iranian forces and what it described as enemy forces.
