13 airports in Russia halt operations due to drone attack

The operation of the regional air traffic control centre in Rostov-on-Don has been temporarily adjusted after Ukrainian drones struck the administrative building of the Southern Russia branch of “Aeronavigation of the South of Russia”.

Axar.az informs that, according to the Russian Transport Ministry, staff are safe and an assessment of the equipment’s functionality is underway.

In response, air traffic management procedures across southern Russia have been adjusted. The Transport Ministry and the Federal Air Transport Agency, together with airlines and airports, are coordinating schedule changes.

The operation of airports in Astrakhan, Vladikavkaz, Volgograd, Gelendzhik, Grozny, Krasnodar, Makhachkala, Magas, Mineralnye Vody, Nalchik, Sochi, Stavropol, and Elista has been temporarily suspended.

It is also noted that earlier reports had indicated an attack on Grozny.
