Iran executed Erfan Shakourzadeh after convicting him of cooperating with US intelligence and Israel’s Mossad.

Axar.az reports, citing Iran International, the judiciary-linked Mizan said that Shakourzadeh had been recruited into a major scientific organization active in the satellite sector because of his expertise, but did not identify the institution or provide evidence supporting the espionage allegations.

The judiciary-linked outlet accused the 29-year-old of transferring classified information to “enemy services.”

Mizan claimed he had contacted foreign intelligence services in three stages, two linked to Mossad and one to the CIA.

Shakourzadeh was arrested by Islamic Revolutionary Guards in 2025 on accusations of “espionage and cooperation with hostile countries” and sentenced to death.
