Iran court to hear Jafar Panahi case on May 20

Iran’s Revolutionary Court in Tehran is set to hear the case of filmmaker Jafar Panahi on May 20.

Axar.az reports, citing Tasnim, that on Wednesday, May 20, Branch 26 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Tehran, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari, will review the case.

It is noted that last year, Panahi was sentenced in absentia to one year in prison and a two-year ban on filmmaking on charges of “propaganda activity against the system,” while he was involved in Oscar campaign activities and promoting his film “It Was Just an Accident.”
